TUESDAY 7/29:

Team went to the newer World Vision office in Nkhoma and met with WV representatives there.  They gave a power point presentation (very impressive use of technology in comparison to just last year!) on efforts to reduce the spread of malaria & HIV/AIDS.  Malaria issues at the Nkhoma hospital show incredible reductions in patients thanks to the intelligent implementations and actions of World Vision and its supporters & team. Other strategic programs that train and support small business operations such as the use of cows and their milk, help provide financial support and nutrition to entire villages.

After the meeting our team had the privilege to go out and meet with many of the World Vision sponsored children. To see first hand what help many members of our congregation are providing to the region is awesome. Gifts, such as hand made clay pots, chickens and food were given to our team from the sponsored families. Their willingness to give these important gifts showed the immeasurable gratitude these people have for the support and prayers.

Jan with her sponsored "child" who is quite grown up.

The team visited this woman's cabbage garden, one of the WV projects. Pat thought she had 200+ heads of cabbage. She cultivates and waters her garden by hand.

Natalie and Nestor visited Victor, the sponsored child of Pete and Vi Janssen. They were given a chicken, peanuts and a big pottery pot. The generosity of these people is amazing.
