Dear Friends of the SCPC Y-Malawi team,
Sorry that there haven't been more posts, but our team is serving in the Nkhoma community, which does not have many places with wifi. When they get a chance to send us a message, I am sure they will. In the meantime, please keep praying for them: Mike, Shea, Jon, Nestor, Pat, Natalie, Dan and Jan.

Short update
Tuesday in Nkhoma
The team does not have wifi in Nkhoma and do not have a texting plan, so they will use other people's email when they can to send updates.
I received an email from Pat Marvin this morning. They spent today (Tuesday) with World Vision (WV). Pat wrote, “It was a wonderful experience meeting the kids, seeing a cabbage garden (amazing!) and learning how much one cow can impact the life of a village. Everyone was inspired, humbled and totally thankful to the WV staff for a great day.”
On Wednesday the team will be meeting with the CCAP (Church of Central Africa Presbyterian) Youth Department. They are not sure of the plan, but will be led by our partner and friend Kennedy Chabwera. In the afternoon they hope to have a tour of the Nkhoma Hospital.

Dinner First Night in Malawi
This is the latest photo of the team having dinner with Louise Laubscher, founder of Fishers, Trainers and Senders and their driver. This is Mama Mia's, Malawian version of Italian food. They had a late dinner and are now in bed. If you want to figure out what time it is there, add 9 hours to California time. They are so grateful for your prayers. Sorry for publishing to many posts all at once, but I was out of town this weekend and am just now getting caught up. I'll try to keep this blog up to date with news each day, if possible.
Safely in Lilongwe
The team arrived safely in Lilongwe. Here they are loading their bags in and on their van. Louise Laubscher was able to meet them at the airport. What a gift!
Farewell photos
Here are some photos from the team before they left Friday evening. Saying good bye at the church parking lot and collecting the luggage at LAX.

Safely to Dulles
The team made it safely to Dulles. They had to retrieve their luggage and recheck it through to Lilongwe. All went smoothly. There was a little concern with the airline announced they were going to weight carry-ons, but Pat did some magic and got our team through without their bags being weighed.
Now they are on a plane or in the Addis Ababa airport for the next 25 hours or so. Please pray that they will be able to sleep on the long flight to Africa.
